This scholarship is awarded to students in the Student Success Program who have demonstrated academic engagement and effort during their first semester of college. Three scholarships will be awarded at the beginning of Spring 2024 for $1000, $500, and $250. This scholarship is by invitation only for those qualifying students in the Student Success program who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher at midterm grade checks.
The Rising Star Scholarship requires 3 submissions:
- Application Form
- Testimonial Recording
- Scholarship Essay
The scholarship application, testimonial, and essay must be submitted by 11:59 pm on November 30th.
The application is the form below; the testimonial is a 60-90 second video recording you make on your phone and email jamie.kearra@utahtech.edu along with your Scholarship essay with Rising Star in the subject line. The video answers the following questions:
- What is your name and intended major?
- What is the secret to your success in college?
- How has the Student Success Program supported your success?
- What advice would you give a new freshman about how to best succeed at Utah Tech?
The Rising Star Scholars will be notified in December 2023, and the scholarship will be awarded Spring semester and is contingent upon enrollment for Spring 2024 at Utah Tech University.
