Red Rocks Waiver

Spring Deadline December 15th

To be considered for the Red Rocks Waiver applicants must:
  • Apply for fall or spring semester as an incoming freshman OR transfer student
  • Be a US Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status
  • Attend Utah Tech University Dixie Campus
  • Have intent to graduate from Utah Tech University
  • Major in a qualified Utah Tech program

 

Requirements for Red Rocks Waiver:
  • Be admitted to Utah Tech by the deadline.
  • Freshmen must have a 2.5 unweighted high school GPA or higher.
  • Transfer students must have a 2.75 or higher transfer GPA with a minimum of 24 transfer credits.
  • Be a US Citizen, Permanent Resident, Qualified Alien within the United States, or DACA/Undocumented/Dreamer Student.
Program Details

The Red Rocks Waiver is a new waiver to bring opportunities to students of any state to attend Utah Tech and make it even more affordable.

The program is set for a maximum of 8 semesters. Transfer awards will vary depending on the number of transfer credits already accumulated. Notification of awards will begin March 1st for Fall and October 1st for Spring.

Time the student is enrolled on the Red Rocks Waiver can count towards requirements for resident status for tuition purposes.

Participants on the Red Rocks Waiver must do the following to remain eligible:

  • Complete no less than 12 credit hours per semester. This waiver will not pay on more than 20 credit hours per semester
  • Maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average
  • Have not accepted any other Utah Tech scholarship in the form of tuition waiver or tuition reduction (private cash awards or scholarships are acceptable).
    *Note if you are a resident of Lincoln or Clark County in Nevada or Mohave or Coconino County in Arizona then you will be considered for the Good Neighbor Program, and if you are from a participating WUE State then you will be considered for the WUE.
